Masonry Instructor

Fort Scott Community College

Do you enjoy working with your hands outdoors? Have you ever felt that sense of pride that results from building something, then seeing it in use? Well, if so, a career in Masonry may be for you!

All Masonry courses offered on our campus are facilitated and managed by Fort Scott Community College. Their masonry courses take a hands-on approach to learning the National Center of Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Institute’s industry-developed curriculum that you’ll need to succeed in the field.

Nacoma Oehme serves as the Masonry Instructor on our campus, and he uses his years of industry experience to teach you the skills needed to become a successful mason. Nacoma will teach you basic construction principles, how to read blueprints, how to lay block, stone and tile, and other advanced masonry skills. Once you’ve completed your coursework, you’ll earn a Masonry Certificate, which demonstrates a basic proficiency of the skills required for the trade.

If you’ve ever considered a career as a mason, enrolling in a course at CTEC could be the first step in your new career!
